Candidates for dental implants
At Bribie Dental, we always make sure that our patients interested in receiving Dental Implants are equipped to do so.
At our Bribie Dental practice, we have the necessary diagnostic equipment to determine if you are a suitable candidate for Dental Implants. Our selection process includes:
Good Health
The candidate should be in good overall health. Although there is a high success rate for Dental Implants in people with pre-existing medical conditions, we still take all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our patients.
Strong Gums
The periodontal tissue (gums) is also a big factor in the selection criteria. In order to promote fast healing and a high success rate, the patient should have exceptionally healthy gums. We examine the current condition of the gums and determine if they can handle Dental Implant surgery
Jawbone Quantity
We ensure that the patient who is about to go through this dental procedure has enough bone to anchor the implant in the jaw. However, people that have lost bone in the jaw can still get Dental Implants, provided that the bone is rebuilt first through special grafting procedures.
In addition to all these requirements, we also make sure that the patient is committed to taking good care of their implanted teeth as well as the surrounding gums.
*Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
